For nearly 50 years, GNGLL has provided an opportunity to learn and enjoy the games of baseball and softball. Originally founded as separate organizations, Gray Little League and New Gloucester Little League merged in 2011 to form a larger organization serving multiple communities. Over the years, thousands of kids have played in our league, met new friends, and spent time with their families learning baseball and softball.
Our primary goal is to build relationships in our community by helping kids play with their friends and enjoy being part of a team. Unlike tryout-based travel teams, our teams are open to all players regardless of playing ability. Our goal is to provide a fun and learning experience for players of all abilities from all walks of life without exclusion.
Each year we provide dozens of scholarships or fee waivers so kids can play regardless of economic background. Additionally, all of the team and game structures are designed to maximize fairness and learning opportunity.
Across all of our offerings, we provide a comprehensive experience for our players as well as a tremendous community-driven, volunteer program. Over 100 adults in Gray and New Gloucester volunteer each season to run our program, coach our players, maintain over a dozen fields, umpire our games, and run our snack shacks.
Throughout the years, GNGLL has provided recreation, learning, teamwork, and outdoor activity opportunities to many kids who have grown up in Gray and New Gloucester. Many of those kids continue today as parents who volunteer for the league and share this tradition with their children. Overall, we are proud to bring our communities together through our shared love of baseball and softball and plan to do so far into the future.
